En mycket udda plats som du hittar till så här: Antingen går du från Tändsticksfiket genom aspdungen norrut. Eller också följer du härifrån skylten “diket” norrut till ravinkanten och sedan västerut utefter kanten tills man möter en till ravinkant. När man väl hittat hit står man på en udde, omgiven av branta slänter ner mot bäckraviner, med den planterade aspdungen bakom sig. Här ska man slå sig ner och få närkontakt med naturen.
Fågellivet är rikt. Här finns gott om bohål i björk, gråal och asp. Flera av de planterade asparna har dött och hackspettarna har skapat bohål åt både sig själva och många andra hålbyggare. Remsan mellan aspdungen och ravinkanten är ett populärt stråk för bland annat rådjur och grävling. Sitter man stilla längst ut på udden kan man få se dem på nära håll. Vid årstider när grönskan inte är alltför tät, har man bra möjlighet att spana på dem även nere i bäckravinerna.
Det finns gott om grov död ved i olika stadier av nedbrytning. Titta närmare på den! Där finns en rik flora och fauna av diverse fascinerande levande varelser. Som den vackert blåa grönskålen på bilden. Den växer på en gammal apel som fick för lite solljus och dog för många decennier sedan. De vita stjälkarna med mörka klubbor i toppen är omogna sporkapslar till en sorts levermossa, troligen påssvepemossa. Med avkopplande fika, nyfikenhet och några timmars tid, får man många spännande upplevelser här.

A very special place that you will find as follows: either you go from Tändsticksfiket through the grove of aspen trees north. Or, from here, follow the sign ”diket” north to the edge of the ravine and then go west along the edge until you arrive at another ravine edge. Once here, you will find a cape surrounded by steep slopes down towards the stream, with the planted grove of aspen trees behind it. Here you can settle down and get in close contact with nature.
The birdlife is rich. Here are plenty of holes to live in, in birch, alder and aspen. Several of the planted aspen trees have died and the woodpeckers have created nests for themselves and many other animals that nests in holes. The strip between the grove of aspen trees and the ravine is a popular route for deer and badgers. If you sit still at the top of the cape you can see them close by. In seasons when the vegetation is not too dense, you have a good chance of spotting them down in the ravine.
There are plenty of deadwood in different stages of decay. Take a closer look at it! There is a rich flora and fauna of various fascinating living creatures. Like the beautiful green elfcup (Chlorociboria aeruginascens). It grows on an old malus tree that did not get enough sunlight and died many decades ago. The white stem with its dark clubs at the top are a type of moss. With a relaxing coffee break, curiosity and a few hours, you will get many exciting experiences here.
